Dover Under 15s (8) v (10) Sheppey

It has been a while since Dover and Sheppey have got together for a match. The contest was eagerly awaited and the match lived up to expectation. The teams were very evenly matched and the sunny weather made it an all round pleasant experience for players and spectators alike.
The score board was opened with a penalty scored for Dover by George Moore. This may have lead to a further 3 points just 10 minutes but a missed penalty left the score at 3-0. Dover seemed to be dominating the first half but Sheppey took the lead with a quick break down the left wing. Unable to convert the score was 3-5 at half time.
During the second half, down hill and with the sun behind them, Dover scored a try, also in the left corner. The try, scored by George Moore was not converted. Once again Dover were in the lead.
A strong passage of rucking and mauling 5 metres from the try line in the last 5 minutes of the game gave the visitors a well earned 5 points and a few minutes later the final whistle blew.
A disappointing loss for Dover but an enjoyable match all round.
