Dover U15s (19) v (0) Whitstable U15s

There was a keen wind blowing across the rugby field at Archers Court this Sunday as Dover Under 15s ran out against Whitstable. The Dover boys started powerfully after a break from Josh Mills and then some good, straight forward rugby resulted in a try from prop Dylan Woods, straight under the posts. Captain George Moore converted and it seemed that Dover were in for a comfortable match.

As is so often the way, this was not to be the case and Whitstable fought hard against the home team and the 7 – 0 remained the score-line well into the second half. Strong work from the fly half and centres remained un-rewarded and opportunities were lost for Dover from lack of using the wings who were quite often in a position to run over the line and score.

During the second half coach James Cattermole swapped centre and full back Matt Sadler and Mark Osmond, which seemed to be the magic ingredient. Whitstable at one stage looked as they were going to equalise but strong defence, as always from the home team, kept the score at 7 – 0.

The next try came from Dover rucking and pushing over the line and Conan Osborne took the try, which was followed closely by a well worked try from George Moore following a well timed charge down by Sam Webb. Moore then converted.

Well done Dover. Man of the match went to second row Chris Griffin and tackle of the match, once again, went to Sam Webb and kick of the match went to Matt Sadler.
