Dover under 15’s played like they have never played before in their match against Canterbury this weekend at Crabble in the Kent Cup. They were an inspiration to watch as each member of the team put in a 100% effort into every pass, ruck, maul and scrum.
Last year the same Dover team were beaten 67-0 by Canterbury and the match was stopped before the final whistle blew. This weekend saw a very different story and the even the Canterbury coaching team complimented Dover on the amazing improvement their side had made.
Once again the team was lead by a heroic performance from ‘Man of the match’ Captain George Moore who scored 10 of the points via a try, conversion and penalty. Dover’s second try was scored by Vice Captain Sam Webb who spun out of a Canterbury tackle to reach over the try line.
Overall, the whole team played extremely well and the season ahead bodes really well for a side with such spirit and determination.
Well done boys!

The Referees View
Dover U.15's went down narrowly to a good Canterbury team in the EKC encounter on 7th October 2007.
Both teams respected the Ref's decisions and it was a cracking game which Dover could have won.
It was a remarkable result bearing in mind that last season it was greater than 60-0 to Canterbury if I recall it correctly. I think I was also involved then.
Highlights were the Dover running at the opposition and the tackling,
which was magnificent. Heads never went down.
Both teams can be proud of their performance.
There was also a remarkable lack of touchline verbal commentary, which I applaud.
The front row need to work on their pushing positions, this being a safety observation, their backs not being straight enough (too bent over), and hence losing a bit of oopf in the scrum.
Both sets of coaches/administrators have every reason to be very proud of the way their teams played.
