The Dover RFC U12s travelled to Blackheath RFC in London this weekend
for the Kent festival with 16 excited players and parents. Dover
were drawn against some of the strongest teams in Kent, Tonbridge
Juddians-A, O.Alleynians-A, and Bromley-A This was always going to
be tough and after a shaky start against a formidable O.Alleynians
side the young sharks were determined to put in a good performance
but just couldn’t match the speed and agility of this drilled
side.

Next were Bromley and this was a far closer affair with great
work by the forwards driving through the defence.
Dover had a sure
try disallowed in this game, heads dropped a bit. Bromley were
too strong in the end and run out winners. Next up were Tonbridge
Judds young Cooper got a broken tooth and Hooker Ribbons suffered
a knock to the head during this game, both had to come off. In
the end Tonbridge were too strong on the day.

After a considerable wait Dover U12s had Bromley B in the Plate. It
must be said on this day lady luck was against us, scrum half Moore
had to come off after a clash of heads with team mate Smith. Dover
had to reorganise, had a try disallowed during the game and spent most
of the time camped on Bromley’s try line. It was a very close
match indeed and ended just 5-0 against the young sharks. Players and
parents should be proud of how they conducted themselves and we look
forward to more hard work on the training ground on a Thursday and
Sunday mornings.
