The first game was against Canterbury who in the pre match warm up
looked a lot more drilled side with a number of bigger players. Straight
from the kick off Canterbury ran the ball but with solid tackling from
Dovers centres and fullback the opponents were stopped in there tracks.
Dover 's forwards rucking was awesome with new team players Josh and
Matt falling into position in the front row.
All of the Dover pack played outstanding with hard work being put in by the second rows and Robin at number 8 to allow Matt and his new team mates to win some excellent balls against the head.

From an excellent restart Kick
off by Kallum Allen and outstanding pressure from Harry Moore on
the Canterbury
backs Frazer Shield followed up to touch the ball down for a great
try. Unfortunately for Dover Canterbury's quick thinking scrum half
rounded the scrum on the blind side to touch down in the corner 5-5.

With the second half under way Dover was soon under attack, but once
again the attack was thwarted by some hard tackling with Harry and
Kallum making some breaks in the centre to allow Dover to attack linking
up with Frazer, Michael and Luke. The game ended with two tries to
one against Dover. But the score in no way
reflected the game.
Tonbridge kicked off with the advantage of the sun and slope with
some high kicks putting fullback for the day Derren under pressure,
which he handled well passing
to Kallum who made some excellent clearance kicks. With the sun behind
them Tonbridge played an open game running at speed towards our backs
but once again solid tackling from the backs and good rucking and
mauling from the forwards preventing certain tries also resulting
in blooded
nose for Harry and a blow to the head for Smithy. But under pressure
Tonbridge were able to chink Dover 's armour and score two tries
before the half time whistle.
Dover with the sun and slope applied early pressure to the opposition
which resulted in an outstanding individual try in the corner for
Dover by Josh Glew.
With this came more confidence from the backs putting the ball in the air and chasing, leading to some great handling by all the backs and with the forwards continuing to apply pressure in the scrums held back Tonbridge for most of the half. Some great breaks by Joe were well supported by the rest of the team

and when Tonbridge did get a
chance to attack it was only to be held up at the try line
by excellent defending by all the team. Tonbridge were to score
once more before the final whistle. But once again Dover produced a
outstanding
game of rugby which was enjoyed by spectators and coaches alike.
