Dover 1st XV (36) v Lewes (8)
Played 19th April 2008

Dover responded to last weeks disappointing display with a controlled and comfortable victory against Lewes. Unfortunately the Deal Lions were unable to seal a win against league leaders Gravesend and this result means that Dover will now travel to face Purley John Fisher RFC, from London 3 West in the play off stage next Saturday. read more...

Tonbridge Juddians (10) v (26) Dover 1st
XV
Played 12th April 2008

This was possibly the poorest game Dover has played in recent seasons and the score line does little to reflect the closeness of this game. There might be a number of excuses one could try and use but quite frankly some of the visitors didn’t get out the starting blocks for this contest. Read more

Dover (10) v (10) Aylesford 1st XV
Played
8th March 2008

Dover salvaged a point from this contest, which now assures
them of at least second spot in their first season in London 3. Gravesend continued
their winning form and they now have a two point cushion at the top, however
there are two games left and they still have the Deal Lions to face on their
last game of the season. read more...

Lordswood (0) v (20) Dover 1st XV
Played 8th March 2008

This wasn’t of a spectacle of a game by any means, but it was an important contest to win and with Gravesend narrowly beating Aylesford, possibly the main contenders from the start of the campaign, London South East 3 is now a three horse race with Deal and Betteshanger still mathematically in the running. read more...

'It's a feeling of belonging': Leading lights of Dover Rugby Club explain how their youth policy has been the bedrock of success on the field.
Kent group Newspaper Video Interviews with DoverRFC (opens in new window)

The EDF Senior Vase has seen us over come local opponents, and sides from Norfolk and Essex, taking us to the quarter finals where we were drawn against Cullompton RFC (Nr.Exeter) Devon. Cullompton who also sit 2nd in their league, and boast an impressive record of not having lost at home in 2 seasons were this weekends formidable fixture. The team and much of the support travelled the 250 miles to Devon on the Friday, to ensure all were as fresh as possible.
Our hosts were superb, and should be proud of the fine facilities they have built up for themselves, the quality of the team and the true rugby hospitality afforded us. Cullompton are clearly working in a similar fashion to Dover, their side was young, strong and fast – which mirrors Dover and ensured an action packed game. The game was played at great pace and was a wonderful spectacle of which both towns should be exceptionally proud, and the result could have gone either way. Home advantage proved the edge and we wish Cullompton every success as they proceed in the competition, we will watch their progress with a tinge of envy as we focus our efforts on the league.
My thanks to the players, support staff, and the travelling support from Dover, who did the town proud and gave me such an enjoyable day (apart from the result of course).

Chichester 1st XV (16) v (31) Dover 1st XV
Played 16th February 2008
Dover will be please with their two points from this game; however they will need to take stock of their performance particularly in the first half . This fixture was always going to be difficult in view of the journey in reaching the destination and more importantly the fact that Chi has a reputation of being a side that rarely lose on their home turf.

Dover narrowly managed to advance to the last 16 of the EDF Senior Vase against Diss from Norfolk. A minutes silence took place before kick off in memory of Nick Lorimer, who
died suddenly last weekend at the age of only 65. Nick, a former player, was
one of Dover’s 1st XV regular supporters and he would support and contribute
in everything that took place with the team. On behalf of the 1st XV and Dover
Rugby Club I would like to extend our condolences to his family and Nick’s
presence and friendship will be sadly missed by all at Crabble.
