Dover “Sharks” Recruiting Now!
Dover Rugby Club (known locally as “The Dover Sharks”),
have with careful planning seen great advances in mini and youth at
Dover. More importantly the awareness to blend youthful talent with
skilled and experienced players, as the club’s five/six year
plan realises and exceeds its key targets.
With 5 promotions in 6 seasons Dover have raised themselves from Kent 3 to London 2 South (RFU level 6), and with it some great examples of 15 man rugby. We welcome all new players, whether at mini, youth or adult level, to our friendly and pleasantly situated club. With our commitment to player development through the club, this can give the misconception that we are a “closed shop,” which is not the case.
We are currently looking to recruit senior players who have the right aptitude and playing ability, and would welcome the challenge to aspire to playing at level 6. With our 2nd XV having moved up to Invicta, our 3rd and 4th XV’s are in the merit leagues, but all are behind the progress the club has made. The average age of our 1st XV is now 23 and the camaraderie on and off the field is excellent.
Pre-season training is well underway and there is a wonderful opportunity for players to come and see firsthand, what the club is trying to achieve and how it operates. Would you like to become part of one of the fastest evolving clubs in the county?
