We quite often get the same questions asked again and again. This page was a suggestion by Phil Skewsbury and we all agree that it is a fine idea. So here are some of our more frequently asked questions.
Question: Do you have to be a
player to be a club member?
No - you
can become a social member.
Question: How much is Social Membership?
Currently this is set to £15
Question: Are there any benefits?
You are officially a member of the club and bar,
you are recorded as a member and the fee will go to assist the running
of the club.
Question: How much does it cost to play?
Senior playing membership costs £30 – match
fees are £6.50per
match.
Youth playing membership costs £15 (subs £20) – no
match fees.
Question: When is the clubhouse/bar
open?
Saturday match days from around 2pm, Sunday lunch
times and Thursday early evening, and other times by arrangement
(contact Howard Beardsell).
Question: When are matches played? (days & times)
This depends
on the age group. League or competition. Most
youth games are on a Sunday with a 11am kick off. Most senior games
are on a Saturday afternoon kick off varies between 2pm and 3pm
dependant on the time of year (to allow for darker evenings).
Question:
Is there a fixed rugby season?
For youth
there is a structured season – running from September to
mid April.
For seniors they start fixtures at the end of August and
run through to April, with some finals / sevens taking place in
May.
Question: Can I buy player's kit or branded supporter's wear from the
club?
Yes we
have a club shop which is generally open on a Sunday morning.
Question: Are
the Club's Social Events only for Players / Members?
Social
events are for all including guests, unless they are specifically
booked for certain people (i.e. VP’s luncheon,
Ladies night, Gentleman’s evenings, etc).
