Dover 2nd XV (23) v (10) Thanet 2nd XV

The last month has been uneventful for the 2’s with fixtures being lost to the wintry weather. Last Saturday was a gloriously sunny day though and perfect conditions for a game of rugby. The lack of games told on Dover, and at times they made hard going of what was moderate opposition. Read full Report

With their two previous fixtures affected by the weather, the 2’s were relieved to find sunshine and firm ground last Saturday. Sidcup were of a similar standing to Dover and their league positions reflected this. Sidcup could’ve overtaken Dover with a win at Crabble. Read Full report

Dover 2nd XV (13) v (19) Maidstone 2nd XV

The two sides contesting this match had had differing times of late. Maidstone had posted 80 points on the board the previous week, whilst Dover had conceded 70 in their last league game. Nevertheless this proved to be a very evenly matched game, and the result was in the balance up until the last minute. read more...

A strong Dover 2nd XV made this fixture hard work on Saturday and were unable to find the fluidity of the previous week. Thanet fought very hard and never gave up, testing the Dover defence to the last minute. read more...

 The first away game of the season took the 2nd XV to far-flung Sidcup, a club of similar standing to Dover. The 2nd XV sent a strong team, with captain Matcham continuing his impact role from the bench. After beating Ashford 75-0 earlier in the season Dover were not expecting too many problems in the return match. Even though the final score suggests Dover had once again run away with the game, in fact Ashford put in a much improved performance.
