Dover U8s Kent Mini Festival

Dover U8 Sharks did themselves proud at the East Kent Mini Rugby Festival on Sunday. In their pool they faced Canterbury (losing 3-0), Sheppey (4-2 win), Folkestone (1-1 draw) and Whitstable (winning 4-2). These results put them in the play off for 3rd/4th place against Thanet. The young Sharks certainly saved the best for last and in an exciting end to end match they emerged the 4-3 victors sealing a well deserved 3rd place in the tournament. Special mention should go to Aurelien Austin who proved strong both in attack and defence, Kai Freeth who sportingly donned a Sheppey shirt when they were a player short, and Man of the Match Ben McKeown. Abigail Coles was also nominated by the Whitstable coach for Player of the Tournament in Dover's pool. The players were: Aurelien Austin, Abigail Coles, Declan Quincey, Ben McKeown, Jo Sabin, Jack Isaacs, Harry Windley, Robert Frackleton, Max Norris, Sonny Batts, Kai Freeth and Jamie Davies.
