Dover U15 Lifted their game to another level when they entertained Folkestone on sunday. Following their Short handed victory last week at Thanet Dover welcomed back Nathan Grant and Jordan Hunnisett Back from injury and were able to field an eighteen man squad, and this reflected in the performance.
It was apparent from the KO that both teams were going to make this a memorable local derby. Stones took the early points and went 0-12 up Dover were slow to respond to that, despite the effort that was being put into the game but they worked up the slope, Folkstone defence became ever tighter but good ball retention from dover allowed a sustained attackon the stones try line, white line fever caused the eventual turnover but fullback O,Bree gatherd the ball to resume the attack allowing Luke McNicholas to score and Felix King to convert. The second half had Dover with the slope Yet the game remained an exiting end to end affair with Folkestones more powerful confident runners continuing to cause problems. the scoring developed tit for tat with dover always playing catchup, a result of mistakes early in the first half. an unfortunate injury to One Folkestone player marred an otherwise enjoyable game how ever an important lesson was learned regarding gumshields, Dover wish him a speedy recovery. Notable efforts from scorers McNicholas, King, and Ollie Roberts. Akintokun, strong in his first game at prop, And
Half backs Joe Freeman and George Nobbs Continuing to improve thier game.Dover Youth continually look to strengthen thier squads, turn up at training on wednesday evening, Visit the website, www.doverrfc.co.uk or call Paddy 07771 593619
