A huge team effort saw Dover U15 chalk up their first win on Sunday in
what turned into a thrilling game in atrocious conditions. The first 15
minutes was a close affair with the ball not venturing pass either sides
10m line. The deadlock was broken when Samuel Akintokun made the first
clear break when he charged through to crash the ball over close to the
posts. Felix King duly converting. Thanet probably made the best of the
ball handling errors, however a huge improvement in Dover's defence kept
the hosts out as they pressured the Dover 5m line. Fullback Adam O'Bree
had a busy game as Thanet made better use of the wind, good postitioning
and sure hands dealt effectively with Thanet's probing kicks. Debutante
Bradley Ransley scored an unconverted try for Dover, showing confident
running from the 10m line. Thanet replied after a period of sustained pressure
and a poor clearance kick allowed the hosts over the try line In the last
10 minutes. A pleasing performance overall with Kye Lott leading by example
defensively. Samuel Akintokun, again making good ground with his powerful
attacking running and the half backs, Joe Freeman and George Nobbs making
the best of difficult conditions. Under 15's (school year 10) are looking
