Dover U13s (0) V (59) Ashford V.LARGE U13s
Dover u13s ran out for the first time this season onto the seconds pitch against a very "LARGE" Ashford side. With just the bare 15 players on the day Dover lost young Branden early into the first half with a mild back injury.
Playing on with a loaned Ashford player the Dover lads were up against it
and fell 31 - 0 down in the first half playing up the hill. Great defense
with
three held up tries. Kept the score line at bay.
The second half started well but nervous mistakes from lack of match practise led to the "Big lads" from Ashford punching holes through the back line. A greater resolve from the young sharks proved the catalyst to bring them closer to the Ashford line. From the restart a nice kick from Allen in to touch at the oppositions ten meter line set the platform for scrum half Harry Moore to direct a number of charging runs, from Josh, Joe and young Smith to within centimeters of the try line on five separate occasions. Unfortuntely for Dover, the Ashford lads held fast and Dover's best try scoring opportunity fadded away. All the lads can be very proud of their performance in their first match this season. Heads were held high and at no point did their determination and will to stay in the contest deminish. Ashford should also be congratulated on a solid perfomance Dover looks forward to a return match.
