Dover Rugby Clubs Under 12's travelled to Ashford this Sunday, for the knockout stages of the Kent Festival.
Dover’s first opponents were Beccahamians, and with Dover not fully awake yet, a well drilled team held Dover to a one try a piece draw, with Dover’s try coming from Harry Yarnell. Dover’s next opponents were Bexley, in their previous game Bexley had drawn with Beccahamians, however Dover had now woken up after their first match and found their aggression, eventually winning 15-0 with try’s from Callum Smith, Harry Sayers and Dan Eades. This meant Dover Qualified top of their group and faced London team Old Elthamians, this for a place in the Cup semi finals at Tonbridge next week. The next 25 minutes were played with the aggression that has lead to Dover remaining undefeated this season, the Forwards played a large part in the 5-0 win, with excellent discipline in the scrums from Ben Sturman, Kaylum Reed, and Tom Castle, this eventually lead to one of the opposition becoming so frustrated that he lost his temper and was sent to the sin bin, Dover continued with the pressure, leading to a great deal of possession within the forwards, this drew in many of the opposing team, Scrum half Jack Ricketts then passed the ball out at speed to Centre Harry Sayers, who scored the winning try.
Head Coach John Sayers was overjoyed with the result and praised his team for their fine efforts.
Dover face Sevenoaks in the semi finals next week.
