The Dover scrum quickly took almost total control, pushing the
Whitstable pack off the ball at will. A number of scrums were won
against the head and the Dover backs had a plentiful supply of good
ball going forward.
The backs ran hard with authority, and the Whitstable tackling was
not that good, so half-time turned around at 69-0 to Dover. The
Dover forwards were also taking the ball up well and contrbuted to
the score on a number of occasions.
It was the same scenario in the second half. The game was stopped
by agreement with the two captains with 15 minutes to play at a score
of 104-0. This was because a Faversham player had suffered a broken
leg against Dover 3rds on the other pitch. He could not be moved,
so the 4ths moved aside to let the senior game be concluded on
the second
pitch. Dover 3rds also recorded a win.
