Dover U12s (5) v (5) Folkestone U12s
Whitstable U12s (10) v (5) Dover U12s
Played

This was a strong performance by the Dover Sharks particularly when the squad had a couple of key players out through sickness and holidays. The young sharks squad showed great determination against the well drilled Folkestone side and might have come out on top had young Frazer not had his try disallowed having been rightly judged to have illegally handed off a Folkestone player (purely accidental of course). Matt Ribbans chalked up his try after some tenacious and determined forwards work and a justifiable reward for Matt and his supporting team mates.

The second match was against a well drilled Whitstable squad who always make it difficult for any side that plays them. Dover went down by one then two tries in the first half.

The second half saw a resurgence in the young Shark’s game and young Josh ran half the pitch to touch down in the corner brushing players aside all the way through. Great tackles were being made by the whole Dover side during some great defensive play across the park. Some truly lovely flowing rugby was seen across the backs on a number of occasions. The forwards worked hard all day and secured good ball from both the scrum and the lineout’s. Man of the match was Scrum half Harry Moore who also performed the kicking duties well on the day.

Dover had to borrow a couple of players during the Whitstable game through injuries and both players from Whitstable are to be credited with the determination they showed during this game. They are Nathan who filled in at fly half for us and Matthew who played at outside centre.

It has to be said that the whole team played some really great rugby and indeed it is great to see our training sessions beginning to show during these matches.

The Under 12 Team for the day: Jordan Annakie, Branden, Joshua Glew, Kieran Hopper, Robin Jenkins, Harry Moore, Bradley Reeves, Matt Ribbans, Derren Russel, Matt Sanders, Frazer Shields, George Smith, Michael Walsh
Mascot for the day was Kallum Allen – due being very whitefaced on the day!!
