As the weeks go on Dover’s performance gets better even if the
results don’t do justice to the effort put in by the players.
Playing up the slope in the 1st half Tonbridge Judds used their larger
players to good effect and made some blistering runs. It was to Dover’s
credit and hard tackles that they were able to contain many of the
attacks but they still turned around 29 points down.
The second half started far better and during periods of the play Dover
were unlucky to cross the line. Twice held up just short and a few
basic errors stopping scoring chances. It was 20 minutes into the 2nd
half before Tonbridge Judds were able to score and their 2 further
scores came at 10 minutes intervals. With more players now joining
the Dover squad perhaps the competition for a place in the starting
line up will give the side the impetus it needs.
The “Bambie” award for Man of the Match was given to Joe
Hooker.
The Dover team was: - Barnes, Birrell, Blake, Cunningham, Dight, Hardie,
Hindle, Hook, Hooker, Langford, Law, Mackay, McMenamin, Toby Morris,
Tyler Morris, Parks, Premnath, Robinson, Schacht, Walker, Webb and
Williams.
