The 4ths ended the season on a high and like most weeks the team
was different. Regulars like Clewlow, Gaughran, Speakman and young
Mercer were joined by guest appearances by Oliver, Mercer (Senior)
and Wilkins who wanted a ‘short’ run out following a
long injury but ended up playing most of the game.
Dover was all fired up from the start. Both the pack and the backs
won great ball, making ground at every opportunity. Dover kept up
the high tempo throughout the first half and led at the break by
two-tries and a conversion to one try. Dover went at it full throttle
from the restart and enjoyed great runs from the backs and driving
mauls from the pack. Dover ran in another four tries in the second
half including a debut for Clewlow. Final score Dover 36 – Ashford
