Thanet 4th XV (10) v (12) Dover 3rd XV
Played 24th February 2007
The game started with strong physical play from both sides which resulted
in players losing their cool on numerous occasions throughout the match.
Although there was good play from both sides the first strike came the
Sharks way when the threes orchestrated by scrum half Dann Burr found
an opening for winger Porter who ran straight through several attempted
tackles to score and convert the try.
The second came from Burr himself who jinked his way through the Thanet
defence to touch down, his try being unconverted
The Sharks then made the mistake of being sucked in at a maul which resulted
in the Thanet winger receiving a long pass to score near the corner despite
the valient attempts of Burr and Clark to catch him.
The second half saw Thanet camped in the Dover 22 but the Sharks brilliant
defence held firm for long periods until the pressure finally told and
Thanet scored an unconverted try
Thanks to great tackling from the Dover back row of Le-Han-Fin and Luke
Clark, who was returning from injury, Thanet could not breach the Dover
line again and the final whistle went with the Sharks celebrating an
excellant win and superb team performance.
Team Smith, Bowditch, Curtain, Morrison, Dowie, Rix, James, Clark, Le-Han-Fin,
