Dover 3rd XV (25) v (0) (0) Deal & Betteshanger 3rd XV
Played at Dover - Saturday 4th February 2007

With a depleted side through injuries some old hands were called to bolster the side, notably Lee Smith’s return from retirement.

From the start fierce tackling by both sides set the tempo for the whole game. First strike came from Dover’s pack with a driving maul from the Deal 20 meter line and the chant of happy feet saw birthday boy Danny Robinson get driven over by his youthful pack, winger Porter converted with a excellent 30 meter kick from out wide and set his kicking in for the day.

Deal’s propensity to fringing and going off side inevitably led to a long range penalty which Porter converted superbly. Continued pressure form Dover saw another off side infringement and again Porter obliged with another fine kick and half time Dover 13 – 0 ahead.

Second half much of the same with Dover solid in defense and ferocious in attack, which was epitomized in the performance of Callum Morrison at loose head. Dover’s scrimmaging held well and continued pressure released flanker Greg Lydden on a run from the half way line and a couple of hand offs later scored in the corner bringing the score to 18 – 0.
Chris Holland was next on the score sheet with a jinking run under the posts, and duly converted by Porter.

The final score; 25 – 0 which delighted the coaching and management team.
Man of match shared between; Callum Morrison & Ryan Porter.

Squad: L.Smith, Rix, Morrison, Robinson, James, Lydden, Le-Han-Finn, MacNamara, Mo, Holland, Odell, Gaughran, Porter, Haste, Coughlan, Dowie, Levi.
